World Crokinole League

The World Crokinole League Tour will run from March to June and include existing and new tournaments. Points will be awarded based on tournament performance, with a league champion crowned at the end of the season.

To qualify for a year-end ranking, players will have to participate in at least three tournaments. Players who participate in more than three tournaments may select their top three scores towards their overall ranking.

Tournaments are considered Regular or Major events on the tour. The points awarded at a Major event will be worth more than the points awarded at a Regular event, to reflect the difficulty level of each tournament.

REGULAR TOURNAMENTS:

LONDON - MARCH 28

WATERLOO - APRIL 18

EXETER - MAY 2

TORONTO - MAY 23

MAJOR TOURNAMENTS:

WORLD CROKINOLE CHAMPIONSHIP - JUNE 6

WORLD CROKINOLE LEAGUE FINALS - JUNE 20

Toronto Crokinole Club members can register for WCL tournaments at any of our regular club events. Also, the TCC will be hosting a WCL tournament at the Global Village English School on May 23rd.

March Madness!

Thanks to everybody who came out to our March 10th match at the Ferret and Firkin. We used a new 12-player rotation schedule that allowed players to play with every other member once as a partner and twice as an opponent. This schedule (courtesy of Fred Slater) worked better than previous rotation schedules by removing multiple partnerships and repetitive opponent draws.

Brian Cook is still pulling away from the pack, but several people are now in the hunt for second place.

The results:

(NAME - POINTS - TWENTIES)

Brian Cook - 71 - 133

Derek Hale - 59 - 91

Fred Slater - 58 - 109

Justin Slater - 51 - 110

George Cook - 39 - 92

Eric Miltenburg - 36 - 87

Stephanie Banks - 33 - 80

Tom Doucette - 33 - 68

Warren Dowhaniuk - 32 - 94

Paco - 24 - 75

Please note that our March 28th match at the Global Village English School has been cancelled due to a scheduling conflict with the London Crokinole Tournament. Our next match will take place on April 14th at the Ferret and Firkin. Good luck to all of our players attending the London tournament!

TCC at the Ferret & Firkin, Tuesday February 10 7:00

2nd Tuesday of a cold, hard February -- Booooo!
TCC Crokinole Night at the Ferret! --Yipeeeeee!

The second Tuesday of February is just a few days off and that means another TCC Flickfest is slated for the Ferret and Firkin starting at 7:00.
You are all welcome to come earlier and get your warm up shots in. Someone will be there by 6:30 setting things up. I have some fresh international prospects coming in to beef up the B group. They had their own intramural match recently and are keen to see how they'll measure up against Real Canadian Crokinolers.
There are only 4 short months to go until Tavistock so don't miss this chance to nail down those double takeouts and in-off 20's under match pressure conditions.
... and remember, "The pegs are your friends."

Ferret & Firkin address: 720 Spadina Ave (west side just south of Bloor)

There will also be the latest news on upcoming WCLTournaments.

Looking forward to seeing you Tuesday.

Eric
